Repeating patterns in the yellow sand,
Dominant Sun from where I stand,
Enlightenment possible – no doubt therein,
Removing refuse from the history within.
To be aware of actions and behaviors – so swine,
To acknowledge your essence – so perfectly divine,
To allow those mistakes to be lessons learned,
In the world of misfortune as the ocean churns.
Countless souls on the shore of time,
Clamoring for sunlight and a taste of wine,
The elixir of immortality, beauty, and fame,
Is the frivolous ball in the roulette game.
A game of chance – and yet we hanker for more,
While the house bets large against our paltry score,
If bewildered by neon and a foolish quest,
We’ll lose our awareness and fail the test.
Stand strong and tall above the smashing waves,
Affirm your brilliance in the world of names,
Allow the eternal flame of your soul to shine through,
As you lay in the Sun beneath the sky so blue.
