The search for one’s true calling is one of the most universal journeys. Most of us stumble through life’s corridors, trying door after door, only to find some locked, others opening into rooms that don’t feel quite right, and only a few that truly resonate. This is the process of elimination—a trial-and-error method that, while laborious, often teaches us invaluable lessons.
Others turn to a guru or mentor, someone who has walked ahead and can shine a light on the path. And then there’s the ancient science of numerology—a quiet compass gifted by the universe itself.
For most people, the first path is natural. It appeals to our innate desire for sovereignty of spirit. We are reluctant to surrender our lives to another’s authority. We want to be our own guru, to claim authorship of our story. That instinct is noble and deeply human.
Personally, I have walked all three paths. I have stumbled, I have sought guidance, and I have studied the numbers. Looking back, I see that if I had just listened to what my numbers revealed from the very beginning, I could have spared myself years of missteps and wandering.
That is not to say the hardships were wasted. As I’ve written before, challenges are not obstacles but invitations for growth. They teach resilience, compassion, and depth of character—qualities no book or chart can bestow. Experience carves wisdom into our souls, and wisdom is priceless.
Still, there is no denying the profound accuracy of numerology. Pythagoras, the father of mathematics, once said, “Numerology is the language of the universe.” To me, this is more than philosophy—it is lived truth. After 61 years of seeking, failing, rising, and realigning, I now see that my numerology holds the key to my soul’s purpose. It not only pointed me toward my gifts but also clarified the best pathways to use them.
When I finally listened and acted on this wisdom, my life shifted. The work I do today, whether through my charity work with Food Yoga International or through my writings, feels deeply aligned with my dharma—my sacred duty. That sense of meaning is what sustains me.
The Vedas teach that the soul is eternal, ever blissful, and full of knowledge. But when we forget this truth and misidentify with temporary roles, we lose our way. Numerology, much like the affirmations I share in Soul Power, serves as a reminder that we are not here by accident. We are patterned beings in a patterned universe, and those patterns are whispering guidance if only we pause to listen.
So, if you are searching for your calling, yes—experiment, yes—learn from mentors, but don’t ignore the map that is written in your very name and birth date. Numerology is not fortune-telling. It is a sacred mirror reflecting your essence and reminding you of the direction your soul already chose before you were born.
